Free Star Wars Printable Multiplication Posters For Fun Math Practice

I think we all remember learning those dreaded multiplication facts in second and third grade. And while it is a necessary part of math, plain old flashcards and worksheets can get a little bit boring for kids to repeatedly practice with after a while.

So, to make this part of math a little bit more fun for my middle child, I made these Star Wars-themed multiplication fact posters and cards!

They're definitely full of color and characters that all Star Wars fans love, but best of all (for us teachers, anyhow) they're full of multiplication facts.

I have included a few different sizes in this set too, from full-page posters to half-page cards and even small pocket-sized cards. You could print all of them out as a complete set, or just the sizes you need. I also love the smaller sized posters for saving on ink and paper.

You could also use these posters digitally, on an iPad, phone, or computer screen. I love to cast my computer screen onto our TV and practice them like that too - and the kids love that!

We have been using the medium-sized posters as a booklet. I laminated all of the pages and bound them, but you could just print them out and staple them as well. We practiced our multiplication this way today by first saying the times' tables on each page out loud, then covering the answers with a piece of paper for practice.

However you decide to use these free posters, I hope you and your little mathematicians enjoy them. Also that they make math at least a little bit more tolerable!

Printable Shapes Pack Teaches All These Shapes!

When it comes to supplementing our curriculum with learning games and activities, I love using Montessoriinspired resources. Beautiful watercolor, nature-inspired resources (like my free Tally Mark sets) look so pretty and I find they really engage my kid's imaginations and creativity.

That's what the inspiration behind making this shape pack was. It's full of bright and colorful resources that will help your child learn a lot of shapes with simple games that won't overwhelm them either.

Take a look...

Included in this pack are 16 different shapes for your child or class to learn. These include:

  • Heart
  • Rectangle
  • Circle
  • Triangle
  • Square
  • Crescent
  • Rhombus
  • Diamond
  • Oval
  • Ellipse
  • Octagon
  • Trapezoid
  • Hexagon
  • Right Triangle
  • Parallelogram
  • Pentagon

Shape Posters
I have included two types of shape posters - one that shows the shape only once, in one position, and another set that shows the shapes with rotations. It's really important that kids recognize shapes even when they're turned around, and it's also a great way to introduce symmetry. You and your children can easily explore which shapes have points of symmetry by looking at all of the different positions in the posters.

Flashcards And Three-Part-Cards
You'll also find a set of flashcards and a set of three-part-cards. Your child can learn to recognize the written names of the shapes by practicing with the flashcards, then matching up the three-part-cards. We actually use three-part-cards in a lot of our homeschooling units. They're fun to do and I've made all of them with nice, colorful borders.

My kids love it when I tape up one part of the cards around the room, and they run around trying to match up the other part with them. You could also use the flashcards as a 'write the room' activity in which you hang them around a room and have your child find them. Then they must either copy the names of the shapes on a paper or say the name out loud, depending on their age and abilities.

Patterning And Memory Cards
No good geometry pack is complete without some fun patterning cards! I've included both simple and more complex pattern cards that your child can complete with 1, 2, 3, or more shape cards. There is also a blank card for you to make up your own patterns together.

You could also print out two sheets of the shape pattern cards and make a memory game!

Tracing Cards

You'll also get two sets of different shape name tracing cards included inside. These are great for practicing handwriting for both big and little kids. The first version has large, traceable words your kids can use markers or pencils to fill in or even just trace the letters with their fingers.

The second version is a great way for kids to practice handwriting on their own or some spelling. Each card has a shape on the side and kids need to write the name of that shape. They could use the tracing cards for reference, or try to sound out the words on their own if they're able. I've also included a blank card just for fun because I thought they were so pretty looking!

Shape Sensory Search
In this activity, which is great for younger kids, kids must match a shape card with a shape in the picture. It's great to keep turning the page with the shapes around and have kids try to find the shapes again and again. It's also a lot of fun to hide the shape cards in a sensory bin of some sort, and then ave kids find them and then do the matching.
