NEW Free Printable Wall Art Poster - Where We Love Is Home!

Well, I loved sharing my printable wall art sign last week and just couldn't wait to share this one with you all too! It features a lovely quote about home:
"Where we love is home. Home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts". -O.W. Holmes, Sr.
Don't you just love that? It makes me think of my own children making their way in the world, making their own homes, but never forgetting this one of their childhood. Their feet may leave but their hearts will not. Love it!

And you can absolutely print it out for free for your own home! It's a lovely, inexpensive way to add a touch of coziness and color to a room or add some light to a corner that needs brightening.

Download this free printable PDF below, and please remember ...
**Please share this download with whomever you like, just please remember to share THIS page and NOT the direct download page** Thank you!

Free Printable Letter Matching Worksheets At The Apple Orchard

Pssst - scroll down for the download link!

If there is one thing my kids look forward to every year, it's a trip to the apple orchard we love so much. It's actually a super fun place - there's apple picking obviously, but there's also 3 huge playgrounds, farm animals and a wonderful restaurant (with bar and apple gin included!).

A post shared by Debbie Jean (@debbiejeanmcmullen) on

So when I was trying to think of some fun themes for new worksheets for my youngest, apples were on my mind! She's 4 now and still has a bit of trouble distinguishing between some of the uppercase and lowercase letters, particularly the similar ones like ''b' and 'd' (whyyyyyyy did they make them like that!)

So to help her along I made these Uppercase and Lowercase letter matching sheets with a fun apple orchard theme - and of course, I'm going to share them with you. I'm nice like that.😎

You can print out just the letters your child struggles with a little, or print them all out and go through one per day or week. My daughter loves to color them in first (as you can see, some quite a lot! Also, her arm...) and help to cut them out with her little scissors. After cutting them out, you glue the letters on the appropriate tree - capitals on the capital tree, lowercase on the lowercase tree.

It's simple and requires no prep at all, just print and go! Click on the link below to download.
*And just a note - please feel free to share these free worksheets! But when sharing please link to this page, not the direct download page. Thank You!*

Free Printable Wall Art Poster: Love Begins At Home

If there's one thing I've fallen in love with decorating our home during the past few years, it's beautiful wall art signs! I love the chalkboards, love the wooden letters and really love the printable signs too!

And while I'm always on the lookout for new ones to hang up, I thought making some of my own would be fun since I can use quotes that I love and beautiful backgrounds that will brighten our home.

And of course, I'm going to share!

I'll be leaving a lovely little home decor poster every now and then, and I sincerely hope you enjoy them as much as I do! All it needs is a pretty little frame from the dollar or craft store. They'll be free to download, and look just lovely hung up in a frame in your home - take a look at this week's sign in our home!

This poster features a lovely quote about home from Mother Teresa. "Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do, but how much love we put in that action." What a lovely reminder to let things go sometimes and just love the ones you're with!

So please feel free to grab a copy for yourself, and share it with friends too by sharing this blog post!

FREE Printable: Alphabet Candyland - Learning Upper and Lowercase Letters Through Play

One of the most difficult obstacles for some kids to overcome before learning to read is recognizing letters. The concept that a capital 'G' and a lowercase 'g' are the same letters can seem confusing to early readers - and that's understandable! Most capital and lowercase letters look nothing alike!

So to help teach that concept to your kiddos (and mine!) while having fun, I made up this Alphabet Candyland Game.

Just like the real Candy Land, it features colored squares with corresponding colored cards that you draw from a pile.

The difference in this version is that each colored tile on the board has a capital letter on it. When a player lands on a letter, they must find the corresponding lowercase letter card to move on!

Without feeling too much like they're 'doing schoolwork', kids can learn to play cooperatively, identify colors, and of course, recognize lowercase and uppercase letters. And it's just so much fun to play!

Download your own free copy below, complete with printable rules, game board, color cards and alphabet cards. If you are going to share this download, please link to THIS page and NOT the download link - Thank you! And let me know how much fun you had below in the comments, or throw me a photo on Instagram @debbiejeanmcmullen.

Free Homeschool Planner For September! Get Ready!

psst - scroll down to the pic just like this one to download :)

I admit it - I'm a bit of a planner addict! I just love the feel of laying pen to paper and having a plan to follow every day. Even if I don't always follow it to a 'T' (and I usually don't!) at least I know what needs to get done.

But while I've been searching for just the right planner for our family homeschool, I was having a lot of trouble finding one. Mainly because the planners made for homeschool families with multiple children tend to have schedules made way too small, or with not enough subjects.

So I made my own!

This planner is a printable one that I'm going to release month-by-month - but don't worry, I'll always release it ahead of time! October's will be coming soon too!

It begins with a monthly goal page...

And then has 4 design options to choose from in daily schedules - for up to 6 students. On the side, you'll write subjects, and in the column headers, you'll put your student's names. You can have space for as many subjects or as much writing as you'd like - just make some lines for dividing.

It also has 4 different notes/to do/meal plan pages that really come in handy too!

You can print out enough pages for the whole month, or put them in sheet protectors and make them reusable for every day or week.
All the backgrounds are inspired by September, nature, and happiness! They just make me so happy when I open my binder now...

You could also print them booklet style with your printer's settings to make them a smaller agenda too. Whatever you do I hope you enjoy them!

Here's a sneak peek at my first day of planning...

What Do You Think?
Please let me know what you think of the planner - is there anything else you'd like put into it in the next months, or would you like something a little different? Give me a shout in the comments below or on Instagram or Facebook - show me how you're using it too!

Motivation For This Week - A Friendship Quote

Happy Monday!
Hope you're all doing well this week and getting into the regular Fall routine :)
Are you pumped that Autumn is coming? We sure are! For us, it's full of birthdays, holidays and a whole new fun homeschool year!

Whatever you're up to this week, enjoy this beautiful friendship quote from Leo Buscaglia. I loved putting that adorable photo in the back because it reminds me of the friendship between my husband and I. But whatever place you're in life, all you need is one good person on your team!

"A single rose can be my garden, a single friend my world." - Leo Buscaglia
